Welcome to NAS

Public Information and Education Mini-Grant Awards

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

The Nebraska Academy of Sciences (NAS) manages the Public Information and Education (PIE) mini grant program on behalf of the Nebraska Environmental Trust (NET). NET has recently made some changes to their policies and procedures which now affects how the PIE Grant program will operate and its available funding. Due to these changes, the PIE Grant program will need to refrain from awarding new contracts at this time. The NAS board would like to apologize for the time and effort put into your recent application that will now have to be postponed until further notice. Please watch the website and your email for updates on future application deadlines.
Thank you for your continued support in science education.

  • Public Information and Education (PIE) Mini-Grant Awards are funded through the Nebraska Environmental Trust - Consider applying for a PIE grant!
  • The PIE Grants support the presentation and dissemination of information and perspectives that will stimulate enhanced environmental stewardship in any category eligible for Trust funding. The grant program seeks to expand dialogue on important conservation topics and to provide information on emerging or highly useful conservation methods.

Scholarships Opportunities

  • The Nebraska Academy of Sciences administers five scholarships for high school students totaling $2150 each year.  Two collegiate scholarships totaling $1500 are also awarded each year.
