Spring Meeting Deadlines

  • January 22nd, 2024 - Online Registration opens
  • Deadline extended:  March 1st - Abstracts Due
  • March 15th, 2024- Section Chairpersons send program pages and timeline.
  • March 15th, 2024- Section Chairpersons send program pages and timeline. NAS section chairpersons will notify presenters of abstract acceptance
  • April 5th, 2024 -  Online Registration closes, will reopen the morning of the meeting 
  • April 18th, 2024 - Nebraska Junior Academy of Sciences State Competition
  • April 19th, 2024 - 134th NAS Annual Meeting.

Grant Reiner

Producer & Cinematographer

Grant is a producer with Platte Basin Timeline (PBT) and has been part of PBT since 2017. Grant is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife and a Masters Degree of Applied Science with an emphasis in Science Communication. Grant is passionate about conservation of natural spaces by the blending of art and science. Learning is a life time process for Grant. His ever growing curiosity is what drives him to tell stories around a watershed with PBT. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening/landscaping with his wife and two dogs, exploring wild spaces, hunting, and fishing

Maiben Memorial Lecture Overview

The Nebraska Academy of Sciences is one of the oldest academies in the United States, with a history reaching to the early days after statehood. During its 142 years, the Academy membership includes names and discoveries familiar to Nebraskan, as well as people and events that are now cloaked by time.  The 2022 Maiben Memorial Lecture will trace the organizational ancestry of the Academy, connecting the present day with those who came before us.
